Save Our Children is a fundraising campaign organized by the United Pentecostal Church in an effort to teach children about the love of Christ. The annual Save Our Children fund drive is an important part of fulfilling the Great Commission. It is the primary source of revenue for the General Sunday School Division. Fifty percent of these funds remain in the district in which the funds were raised (which funds special projects for children such as Junior camps, children’s crusades and teacher training seminars) and 50% goes to the General Sunday School Division for the various Sunday school ministries.

This post will serve as the “About” this blog and site.
The idea behind this blog and the sister site is to generate revenue for various charities. I have always been moved by the needs of charitable organizations to which I have been exposed over the course of my life.
I have always given as much as my personal finances have permitted and I have also worked very hard to raise funds for the various meaningful causes that have impacted me. I have to confess though, I feel as if my impact has been minimal at best.
For years I have tried to be innovative in creating and implementing fund raisers. I must say, it seems like I have tried them all. Some were more successful than others but never have I entered into the realm of “changing my world” through fund raising efforts. This is precisely what my aim is in creating and maintaining this site.
Shop and Share has the potential to do just that… Change the World! The non-profit, charitable organizations that will become our featured beneficiaries on this site are all noble causes that have touched my life and the lives of others in powerful ways. I hope to be exposed to new organizations and causes that will one day join the list of organizations that will benefit from the funds that this site generates.
How Does It Work?
ECommerce has grown at an unprecedented pace in the past 10 years. Estores, Social Networks and data processing generate trillions of dollars of revenue each year on the internet. Any good business owner understands the success of your business hinges on the quality of your advertising and the creativity of your marketing campaigns. Advertising on the internet generates billions of dollars for e-entrepreneurs who host high-traffic, quality websites that assist in promoting the products and services you and I purchase on the internet every day.
One of the latest new creative ways to market goods and services on the internet is by using affiliate marketing. Affiliate marketing consists of a retail outlet using private third party websites to promote specific products and/or services to potential customers. The content is provided by the retailer to a third party website publisher and integrated into their website’s content. When a potential customer comes to the third party’s website and follows the links in the affiliate marketing ad, it sends them to the retailer’s website with a cookie (a tid-bit of data telling the destination website where you came from and who you are) on their web browser. If the visit becomes a sale, the third party site owner receives a commission served through the affiliate marketing program.
The idea for Shop and Share is for you to use the Shop and Share Store to purchase products and services that you would normally purchase anyway with the good feeling that you are giving a percentage to charity by using the affiliate links we host on the Shop and Share Store site.
Accountability
The first question you will have is, “How can we be sure this is truly a “not for profit” program?” Great question! Webmasters who use affiliate marketing programs and PPC (Pay Per Click) ads generally use “channels” to control tracking data. This is typically used to see which of their websites and which ads on each website are performing best. By using these channels, webmasters can better understand which products are generating the most revenue and what traffic generating techniques are working the most effectively for them.
Unique channels will be created for the Shop and Share Store and the data will be published on this blog monthly at a minimum (we will endeavor to publish earning updates more frequently). This will hopefully generate excitement for all who are equally interested in the featured charity and will encourage others to pitch in to help promote this site and cause. This is the key to this program’s success!

If you are interesting in helping the cause and/or charity that is featured in the current month, you can partner with us by simply sending emails to as many people as you think may be interested. Remember, we are not asking for direct donations. This is an ECommerce model that will serve up GREAT DEALS from some of the hottest retail vendors on the internet today. Websites like Buy.com, Skype, Geeks.com, NewEgg.com, Apple.com, iTunes, Overstock.com, great eBay listings, AT&T, TireRack.com, Expedia.com, Priceline.com and many more!
Listings will be updated daily with the latest hot deals from these vendors. This site will be desirable not only to those who are interested in helping the month’s featured charity but also to those who are looking for great deals! You can help by spreading the word!
We are excited about what this new idea can do for organizations with a mission to help hurting people all over the world! I believe that people who sacrifice to help others should have the finances they need to fulfill their life’s calling. Shop and Share will be a great method to help others while changing the world!

The vision for Shop and Share has been birthed out of the heart-wrenching reality – of a need far greater than I am able to meet.
Last evening I asked myself how I could give more to charitable organizations in light of my busy schedule not to mention my limited resources. There are just so many causes that I am passionate about supporting!
The plan I will share with you in the next few minutes has left me absolutely awestruck!
